Children are very special at Atonement.

We invite children ages two and up to attend Sunday School.
Pastor Haught loves kids and they love him – especially during the childrens’ sermon on Sundays.

• Students bring your backpacks for our annual Backpack Blessing.
• Atonement School second graders and Atonement Sunday School second graders will receive their Bibles during the 8:00 or 10:30 a.m. church service.
• “How Well Do you Know Your Church Leaders and Teachers’ Scavenger Hunt” will be introduced.  This will be a great opportunity to meet people and get involved and to find your way around Atonement.
• Our annual Ministry Fair will take place during the Sunday School hour and after late service.  Each group at Atonement Church and School will have a booth set up with information about what they do and how you can get involved.  We encourage you to get involve as a family at workdays, as greeters, as ushers, etc.  We encourage you to help during Sunday School (we always need teachers and substitutes) or attend Bible Study during that time.  Sunday School is for everyone.
• We will have some  fun activities available for the kids.
• If you aren’t currently enrolled in Sunday School this is a great day to do it.  If you are it is a good time to make sure we have your current information.  Meet your new Sunday School teachers during the Sunday School hour.
• New Parish Education Handbooks will be available.
• This is a great opportunity fun and fellowship.

Join us for a fun kick off to a new Sunday School year at Atonement Lutheran Church and a new School year at Atonement Lutheran School.

Every summer our Vacation Bible School is “THE PLACE” to be!  Kids age 3 through grade 6 are welcome during VBS as we have fun and fellowship learning about the Good News of Jesus Christ!

Sunday School is an integral part of the Parish Education program.  We strive to teach the children and adults of our congregation to grow in the knowledge of the Triune God and in the understanding of and the commitment to life-related service to our God, following Jesus Christ as our example.  Remember Sunday School is for all ages.

Our Education Hour runs throughout the year and begins at 9:15am.  We are grateful to everyone involved in our Sunday School program.  Every Sunday morning we gather in the learning center in the preschool building for our Sunday School opening.  During this time we sing favorite songs, learn new songs, gather our offerings, and celebrate birthdays and our Baptism birthdays.  PreK 2’s through High School use “Growing in Christ” Sunday School curriculum from Concordia Publishing House and supplemental material. Parents are encouraged to discuss lessons with their children.
