The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), with a membership of over 250,000, is the official women's organization of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, the organization has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global missions.
All women communicant members are invited to participate in and / or help plan any of the Atonement and Saguaro Zone 26 LWML activities.
• Mission Service Workdays, the morning of the 3rd Monday
• LWML Sunday in October
• Advent by Candlelight, 1st Friday evening in Advent
• Fall Retreat at Camp ALOMA, September
• Annual Zone Fall Rally, late October or early November
Current activities and service projects of Women of Atonement LWML are publicized in Sunday bulletins, the At the Tone Newsletter and on the LWML bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.
Ways to Engage - We need volunteers to coordinate and help plan various activities of the Atonement LWML, such as LWML Sunday, Advent by Candlelight, Advent and Lenten suppers and Spring Tea. There is a sign-up sheet on the LWML bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall or contact Bettye Shultz through the Church Office.
The mission of the LWML is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is able to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
Missions Grants are supported through offerings received in the Mite boxes. This money is collected by each church and forwarded to the District Financial Secretary. 25% goes to the National organization; the remainder stays in the Pacific Southwest District. Mite boxes are available in the Fellowship Hall.
